Administrative assistant

Volunteer will answer the CET phone, field questions or direct calls to the proper staff member. Additional duties may include filing, data entry, making copies, and other administrative tasks. This position provides direct communication with community members. It is also a good opportunity for volunteers to familiarize themselves with CET’s major program offerings. Training in the phone system and frequently asked questions will be provided. Attention to detail and accurate typing skills are required. Computer experience, specifically working with databases and Microsoft Office applications, is helpful and will increase the variety of assignments and extent of responsibility. We ask for a weekly commitment of a few hours, during our office hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Event outreach and tabling

Provide staffing and organizational help during special events such as workshops and tabling at community events. Individuals would help staff prepare and bring materials and displays to events, help with set-up, registration, distributing information, and collecting surveys. With greater knowledge of the subject matter, volunteers may be asked to table at events alone. Volunteers may also distribute flyers and other material to publicize CET’s services or events.
Time: Event preparation is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, right before event; and events themselves are usually evenings and weekends. Materials distribution can be any time.
