2008 Green Buildings for Greener Living - Pioneer Valley

October 4, 2008
9 AM - 12:30 PM
The NEW Northampton Senior Center, 67 Conz Street, Northampton

CET's Green Building Tour, co-hosted by the City of Northampton, will be held at the LEED-certified Senior Center at 62 Conz Street. Come learn about CET's green home services, including green home audits, ENERGY STAR and LEED certification, and supporting renewable energy through Clean Energy Choice.

Ride your bike and take a family-friendly "bus-cycle" tour of green household practices in Northampton, led by GREEN Northampton. Learn from residents who are "walking the talk" and can demonstrate their great green ideas for living with a lower carbon footprint. Bikers should meet at the Senior Center by 9:15 AM.

The event will feature informational talks:
- Creating a Zero Net Energy [older] Home, by Mary Kraus, architect

- What is Green Building? By Peggy MacLeod, CET

- Solar projects that will amaze you and how you can go solar, by Jeff Clearwater, Village Power Design

- Learn how the City of Northampton is working towards sustainable practices; and meet Chris Mason, the new Northampton Energy Officer and members of the new Energy / Sustainability Commission.

Discount coupons from our sponsor, River Valley Market, and free ice cream scoops from Bart’s Homemade.
