Take Charge! Hilltowns - July 4

Pledge to Save Energy and Money
Earth Day to Independence Day

Chesterfield, Cummington, Plainfield, Williamsburg, and Worthington

Take Charge! is a community-wide campaign from Earth Day, April 22 to Independence Day, July 4. Williamsburg is joining Worthington, Chesterfield, Cummington and Plainfield to sign up residents to pledge to take steps that save money and energy at home and protect the climate.

To take the pledge, fill out a Take Charge! brochure and pledge to take 1 or all 5 home energy savings steps, such as scheduling a home energy audit, switching to CFLs (compact fluorescent light bulbs), turning down your water heater, using energy saving settings on appliances and using a clothesline. Pick up a Take Charge! brochure, fill it out, and drop it off at one of the following locations:

All Hilltowns: The Old Creamery, Cummington/Rte. 9
Chesterfield: Chesterfield General Store or Chesterfield Post Office
Cummington: Cummington Post Office, Bryant Free Library or The Old Creamery
Plainfield: Shaw Memorial Library, Manda Farm at 25 Pleasant St. or The Old Creamery
Williamsburg: Meekins Library, Town Offices or Williamsburg Pharmacy and Hardware
Worthington: Worthington Library, Town Hall, Transfer Station or Corners Grocery

Participants will be entered in a raffle of prizes from local businesses. Raffle winners will be announced July 4, 2009.
