CET wants your old underwear! We swear!

Are you ready for some new duds?
Are your old clothes refusing to budge?
Is your belt too tight?
Old thigh-high boots too off-white?
Long mink coat with spit-laden quills too slimy?
Kids in high-water jeans too whiny?
Then come down to CET and South County
And bring it all bagged and clean
The earth, air and sea will thank you
oh, your kids (in 2035) will too, and so will we!

Despite our merry but terrible rhyming capabilities here - or perhaps because of them - you must get that nasty mink coat cleaned up first, but we'll take it! Hey, this is your chance to do some spring cleaning and not feel bad about being wasteful. We won't throw it away - we'll make sure someone who really needs it gets it!

Earth Day is April 22--mark your calendars

Why not celebrate it by giving your used clothes and textiles to others. Collected clothes will be resold where possible, or at the very least, recycled.

Participating in the 12th Annual Berkshire County Earth Day Textile Drive is easy. Just bring your clean and dry clothing and paired shoes in plastic bags to one of the two drop off sites in Berkshire County. (Unfortunately, no ripped and chewed up dog toys are allowed - alas!) Think of it this way - is it still actually wearable - and would someone else love it? (or at least find it useful or amusing in some way?)

Sweaters, shirts, skirts, pants, jackets, overcoats and raincoats, blankets, gloves, socks, paired shoes, sheets, towels and curtains - come one, come all, to the greatest textile drive of all!

Clothing must be clean, dry, reasonably compactly packed (we're not too demanding, are we?) and delivered unto our quivering, expectant arms in plastic bags.

Rugs, pillows and carpeting will not be accepted. Seriously, our quivering expectant arms are quite slender...

Please know that wearable clothing will be re-sold (often to our own staff members!)

Other textiles will be recycled as rags. (Ah, alas, alack -)

Also, you know, we don't just take clothes. We take money too! Yes! Throw your old clothes and your money at us too! By this we mean to say that textile drive workers are authorized to accept donations on behalf of CET. We will use these precious funds to keep offering textile drives, hazardous waste collections, electronics collections and more to YOU!
