Benefits Summary (2016-2017)
Health Insurance: We offer comprehensive health insurance through Fallon’s Community Health Plan for individuals and families. The Center for EcoTechnology pays 70% of individual coverage and 60% of family coverage. While premium amounts are subject to change annually, the bi-weekly cost to staff members for individual coverage for health insurance is approximately $60-$75 per pay period. Full time employees (working at least 30 hours/week) are eligible for medical insurance on the first of the month after 30 days of employment.
Dental Insurance: The Center for EcoTechnology offers a dental insurance plan through Ameritas Insurance. The Center for EcoTechnology pays for 50% of individual coverage and 30% of family coverage. This insurance covers preventative and basic dental services and has a $1,000 annual maximum. Full time employees are eligible for dental insurance on the first of the month after 30 days of employment.
Life Insurance: The Center for EcoTechnology buys $20,000 of life insurance for each full time employee through Mutual of Omaha.
Holidays: The Center for EcoTechnology offers 12 paid holidays throughout the year for full time employees. There is no waiting period for use of holiday time.
New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Patriots’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Additionally, employees can, with supervisor approval, elect to “float” five holidays from the list above and take a different day off at a later time: Veterans Day (November 11), Martin Luther King Day (3rd Monday in January), Presidents Day (3rd Monday in February), Patriot’s Day (3rd Monday in April) Columbus Day (2nd Monday in October).
Vacation time: Full time employees earn 10 days of vacation time annually for the first two years of employment. After two years, vacation time increases to 15 days. Vacation time can be taken as soon as it is earned. Vacation hours are earned in increments per pay period.
Sick and personal time: All employees earn sick time every pay period. For full time employees, this equates to 9 days of sick time per year; part time employees earn a prorated amount up to 5 days/year. Sick or personal time can be used for a variety of circumstances, but most often is used when an employee or dependent is ill or requires immediate/unplanned attention.
403(b): The Center for EcoTechnology offers a retirement plan for all employees through Mutual of America. The Center for EcoTechnology will match 25% of an employee’s pre-tax contribution up to the first 4% of salary (for a total match of up to 1% of salary). Employee contributions may be either pre-tax or post-tax (Roth). There is a 30 day waiting period for this benefit and the employer match begins after 6 months.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Employees may elect to contribute pre-tax dollars into an account to be used for reimbursement of health care and/or dependent care qualifying expenses. Employees may participate after 6 months of employment.
