SUMMARY:The Business Advantages of Reducing Wasted Food in New Hampshire
DESCRIPTION:Join Our Virtual Event on Reducing Wasted Food\n  \nDate: Tuesday\, June 18th\nTime: 2:00 – 3:30PM \nCET invites you to a virtual event focused on practical solutions for reducing wasted food in businesses\, institutions\, and schools. During this event\, you will discover strategies to minimize and sustainably manage wasted food\, leading to financial savings\, boosted staff morale\, enhanced customer satisfaction\, and a reduced environmental impact. \nEvent Highlights: \n\nBlue Loon Bakery will showcase their successful food waste prevention\, food donation\, and composting programs.\nNH Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) will provide an overview of the upcoming New Hampshire Food Waste Ban.\n\nSchedule: \n\nPresentations: 2:00 – 3:00 PM\nOptional Discussion and Q&A: 3:00 – 3:30 PM\n\nClick here to register!  \n  \nWhy Addressing Wasted Food in New Hampshire Matters: \nIn 2020\, NHDES reported that approximately 165\,000 tons of wasted food were disposed of by the state’s residents\, businesses\, and institutions\, comprising 24% of the total solid waste stream (source: BioCycle). Instead of contributing to landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions\, this food can\, however\, be redirected for higher purposes\, which CET will discuss in detail. \nThe substance of CET’s presentation will be relevant to New Hampshire’s Food Waste Ban\, which will go into effect on February 1\, 2025. Specifically\, the ban will apply to entities (businesses\, institutions\, schools\, etc.) that produce one ton of wasted food per week or more and are located within 20 miles of a facility with the capacity and authorization to manage wasted food.    \nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn how to reduce wasted food and unlock environmental\, social\, and financial benefits for your business or organization. \nWe look forward to your participation!
