In addition to quarterly newsletters\, resource documents\, and mercury recycling funding\, quarterly meetings are hosted to support municipalities and organizations in achieving the mutual goal of diverting mercury from the waste stream. \n\n\n\nThese meetings are designed to be interactive\, and participants are encouraged to share their experiences\, including challenges they have encountered and best practices they have learned. This session will include a tour and an opportunity to learn more about the program\, connect with other participating municipalities and organizations\, and discuss strategies for safely managing mercury-containing devices. \n\n\n\nWe will be meeting in-person\, at Reworld Haverhill\, for a tour of their operations. We kindly ask that those who are joining us wear non-slip\, closed-toed shoes and bring safety glasses if you have them. The workshop will include a morning classroom session followed by an afternoon field session at Black Earth Compost’s site in Groton.  This no-cost workshop\, conducted in collaboration with James McSweeney of Compost Technical Services and The 131° School of Composting\, will focus on best practices for composting food scraps.  Registration is required. Priority registration is given to the following participants based in Massachusetts:  \n\n\n\n\nOperators of agricultural\, municipal\, and private compost sites that accept off-site food materials\n\n\n\nOperators of small-scale sites that accept off-site food scraps\, such as community garden compost sites   \n\n\n\nOther interested parties considering starting a commercial or community compost site and accepting off-site food materials \n\n\n\n\nIf the workshop reaches capacity\, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.  \n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email from RecyclingWorks with further details and an agenda.
