SUMMARY:Beyond Offsets: Aligning Institutional Climate Goals with Local Community Impact
DESCRIPTION:Beyond Offsets: Aligning Institutional Climate Goals with Local Community Impact\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation:Virtual – Zoom \n\n\n\nDate:Thursday\, May 7th\, 2026 \n\n\n\nTime:12:00 am – 1:15 pm \n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n–DAYS–HOURS–MINUTES–SECONDS\n\n\n\n\n\nSession summary\n\n\n\n\nThis live\, online Boston Climate Week panel explores an innovative approach to advancing community access to resilient climate solutions while helping an institution achieve its carbon mitigation goals. \n\n\n\nSince 2019\, Williams College has partnered with the Center for EcoTechology (CET) to create the Community Climate Fund (CCF). The Fund is used to sponsor high-impact\, community-based carbon-reduction projects to help individual households\, farms\, and community organizations access climate solutions that would otherwise be financially out of reach\, stalled\, stuck\, or blocked. Since its launch\, the Community Climate Fund (CCF) has invested in 119 projects that mitigated 10\,882 lifetime tons of carbon and benefited nearly 1\,000 community members.  \n\n\n\nThis panel will explore CCF’s goals\, how it works\, who it helps\, and lessons learned. Case studies will help you deeply appreciate the real-world co-benefits of community-based climate solutions for institutions. The panel will conclude with a discussion of how this program could be replicated at other universities and other types of institutions that aspire to integrate their climate goals with community impact. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\nthe Speaker \n\n\n\n\nSara DraperMarket Evolution Manager – CET Sara Draper is the inaugural Market Evolution Manager at CET\, leading the implementation of pilot projects\, developing innovative service models\, and analyzing the impact of programs across CET’s portfolio. SUMMARY:Powering Massachusetts Agriculture: Climate & Energy Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Powering Massachusetts Agriculture: Climate & Energy Solutions\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation:Boston Public Market \n\n\n\nDate:Tuesday\, May 5th\, 2026 \n\n\n\nTime:1:00 pm – 2:30 pm \n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n–DAYS–HOURS–MINUTES–SECONDS\n\n\n\n\n\nSession summary\n\n\n\n\nA climate-ready future includes our farms\, our food\, and the energy that powers them. The Massachusetts Farm Energy Program (MFEP) has supported hundreds of farms across the Commonwealth in reducing energy use and investing in renewable technologies\, from high-efficiency cooling systems to on-site solar. Yet the true impact of this work goes far beyond the numbers. It lives in the stories of farmers who are finding new ways to sustain their operations\, steward their land\, and feed their communities. \n\n\n\nAs Massachusetts advances its climate goals\, farms sit at the intersection of resilience\, sustainability\, and local food systems. This panel\, featuring the CET\, Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) and key partners\, will explore how programs like MFEP\, alongside federal opportunities such as REAP (Rural Energy for America Program) and CSAP (Climate Smart Agriculture Program) grants\, are unlocking critical investments in farm energy. \n\n\n\nThrough firsthand perspectives and cross-sector insights\, speakers will highlight how energy efficiency and renewable energy are not just cost-saving measures\, but powerful tools to strengthen farm viability\, reduce emissions\, and preserve working lands. Together\, we will explore what it takes to scale these solutions\, expand access for diverse and underserved farmers\, and ensure that Massachusetts farms remain a cornerstone of a more equitable and climate-ready future. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\nthe Speaker \n\n\n\n\nMelissa Hoffer Climate Chief Hoffer – Moderator Melissa Hoffer is Massachusetts’ first-ever Climate Chief\, appointed by Governor Maura Healey in 2023 to lead the Office of Climate Innovation and Resilience.
