SUMMARY:Deconstruction for Contractors: Strategies for Reusing Building Materials in Connecticut
DESCRIPTION:Renovations are exciting\, but they can also cause a lot of waste. Did you know that around 600 million tons of construction and demolition materials are thrown away in the U.S. every year? This represents more than double the amount of everyday garbage discarded by the public in the U.S. annually. A great way to reduce this waste is through deconstruction\, which keeps perfectly good building materials and appliances out of landfills and can lower construction and remodeling costs for homeowners with reduced disposal fees and possible tax deductions. \nJoin this webinar hosted by the Center for EcoTechnology (CET) to learn about deconstruction best practices and homeowner incentives in Connecticut. In addition to presenters from CET\, attendees will hear from The Green Mission Inc.\, Deconstruction Works\, and Urban Miners. \nThrough presentations by experts in the green demolition and material appraisal fields\, participants will gain a better understanding of how waste reduction and deconstruction practices can be integrated into their expertise and applied on-site. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions following the presentations\, along with the chance to network with potential deconstruction project partners. \nREGISTER HERE\n\nPlease reach out to cet@cetonline.org with any questions.\nThis workshop is made possible by funding from RecycleCT Foundation.
