Pioneering Energy Conservation
CET was founded in Western Massachusetts, leading the way with energy conservation and the first-ever home energy audits.
1980
Expanding Our Impact
Pioneered energy assessments for small businesses, helped launch early energy financing programs, and expanded into waste management, advocating for mandatory recycling bylaws.
1990
Innovating Waste Reduction
Developed one of the first online material exchange platforms, launched the first home compost bin distribution program, and pioneered commercial food waste initiatives.
2000
Driving Sustainability
Led efforts to raise consumer awareness and demand for energy efficiency, scaled sustainability services, launched EcoBuilding Bargains, and introduced energy solutions for farms.
2010
Expanding Reach
Introduced building science training, expanded beyond Massachusetts, and piloted programs to make clean energy more affordable and accessible.
2024
Advancing Decarbonization
Implemented new service models like Inclusive Utility Investments and Carbon-Based Incentives, launched comprehensive decarbonization services, and created the Community Climate Fund to drive local carbon reduction efforts.
