Session summary

Are you a New York State organics hauler?

CET is hosting a virtual roundtable discussion for New York State organics haulers on February 10th, 2026 from 12:00pm-1:30pm.

Effective January 1, 2027, the NYS Food Donation and Food Scraps Recycling law is expanding to mandate entities who produce 1 ton or less of wasted food per week to donate or recycle if they are within 50 miles of a recycler (moving from 25 miles).

In anticipation of this change, we are hosting a virtual roundtable to connect NYS haulers to:

  • Take a deeper look into the current organics diversion marketplace
  • Identify where support is needed to accommodate the increased service demand from smaller generators
  • Collaborate to improve food waste collection and processing in the region
  • Provide an open space for haulers to bring questions to CET for anonymous inquiries to NYSDEC

We would like to discuss the challenges and successes you are seeing, and where more help might be needed in anticipation of the expanded law.

*This conversation will not be recorded nor shared outside of the participant network

Registration is required to participate in this event and is limited to haulers that serve New York State.
