AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The 14th annual Amherst Sustainability Festival will take place Saturday, April 25, on the Amherst Town Common.
The festival coincides with the regularly scheduled Amherst Farmer’s Market at Boltwood Avenue. Organized by town departments, the event serves as a community celebration of environmental stewardship and collective sustainability efforts.
The festival features a variety of attractions across the common, including performances by Henry the Juggler and a lineup of local musicians. Attendees can visit an electric vehicle display that offers test drives, participate in sustainable craft activities and view a hybrid ambulance from the Amherst Fire Department.
Environmental vendors will be on-site to provide information on renewable energy and energy efficiency products. These participants include advocacy groups, renewable energy vendors and sustainable artisans. A dedicated demonstration area will also offer hands-on learning experiences led by experts in various environmental fields.
The Center for EcoTechnology will host a booth at the event to provide information about the Amherst Heat Pump Program. This program offers financial assistance, expert guidance and education to help local homeowners install energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.
