Join RecyclingWorks in Massachusetts (RecyclingWorks) for the 2024 Compost Site Operators Practical Skills Workshop on Thursday, October 22nd, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The workshop will include a morning classroom session followed by an afternoon field session at Black Earth Compost’s site in Groton.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from RecyclingWorks with further details and an agenda. We will start our day out at a classroom offsite (within 15 minutes from the compost site.

BLACK EARTH COMPOST
Black Earth Compost provides comprehensive food waste collection services, catering to a diverse range of clients including universities, supermarkets, small offices, and residential customers. With compost sites in Groton, Framingham, and Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA, they produce premium, nutrient-rich compost. Collaborating closely with municipalities, Black Earth Compost designs and implements custom residential programs tailored to city-wide curbside collection, transfer station operations, schools, and community garden projects.
RecyclingWorks Massachusetts
RecyclingWorks in Massachusetts is a recycling assistance program funded by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and delivered under contract by CET that helps businesses and institutions reduce waste and maximize recycling, reuse, and food recovery opportunities.
