Agents of Change Campaign

Goal: $500,000
Building a climate workforce.
Why it matters?
The growing demand for climate action and jobs outpaces resources and qualified talent. Our training programs will equip new professionals to meet the challenge.
The barrier:
The shortage of qualified labor to fulfill green jobs stymies CET’s growth and puts a burden on CET to train and certify staff before they can be deployed on programs.
In action:
CET has strengthened the climate workforce by providing hands-on weatherization bootcamps that equip contractors with essential energy efficiency skills and by training organizations to lead food waste diversion efforts through our train-the-trainer programs. Additionally, our EcoFellowship program, retired in 2022, developed emerging professionals by immersing them in impactful environmental projects, preparing them for careers in sustainability and climate solutions.
Proof of concept:

Goal: $1.5M
Preparing for the future.

Why it matters?
Flexible funding empowers CET to turn on-the-ground insights into scalable, impactful programs—like Inclusive Utility Investments, which multiply participation in home decarbonization.
The barrier:
We lack the funds to innovate in real-time, which means it takes months to years to fundraise for each innovation.
In action:
Programs like Inclusive Utility investments can be offered among municipal utilities across MA. Data shows that IUI programs increase participation in home decarbonization by 5x and increase project scale by 2x. Therefore, IUI would put the Commonwealth on a path to achieving its residential emissions reduction goals. This is just one example of how CET leverages flexible funding to develop and scale innovative solutions that drive measurable climate impact.

Goal: $1M
Building accessible programs.

Why it matters?
The people most negatively impacted by climate change also have the most difficulty accessing resilient climate solutions.
The barrier:
Complexity, lack of time to decide what to do and where to start, language and technology barriers, and, the biggest challenge of all, financial insecurity, prevent too many people from accessing cost-saving and healthy climate solutions.
In action:
CET offers hands-on support to help small businesses and underserved communities navigate climate solutions with confidence. Our personalized, unbiased guidance ensures that solutions are accessible and actionable, empowering residents and small and micro businesses to implement changes efficiently and equitably.
